Meet Dr. Melanie Cripps

Dr. Melanie CrippsDr. Melanie Cripps is a solo practitioner and owner of Carthage Family Chiropractic LLC. She graduated from Life University in Marietta, Ga and moved to Carthage to pursue her passion for chiropractic. Dr. Cripps is a native of Hermitage, Tennessee. She played Division I college softball while earning her Bachelor’s degree at Tennessee State University. As a college athlete, she suffered from daily headaches which hindered her performance on the field. After being prescribed a daily medication for her pain, she decided to try a natural approach, chiropractic. With a few adjustments, Dr. Cripps was pain-free, more energetic, and had better athletic performances. This inspired her dream of helping everyone she meets with the power of chiropractic healing.

Dr. Cripps has a conservative approach to care that centers on the function of the whole body, not just the symptoms. She aims to remove nerve interference to allow the body to express its full potential and heal. Dr. Cripps is certified in the Graston Technique, which is used by more than 300 professional and amateur sports organizations. This technique is a form of soft tissue treatment for scar tissue, fibrosis, and chronic inflammation. It promotes faster rehabilitation, a reduction in the need for anti-inflammatory medication, and to resolve chronic conditions that are thought to be permanent.

Dr. Cripps treats a variety of conditions for babies, children, teenagers, adults, athletes, and retirees. In addition to Chiropractic, Dr. Cripps implements the use of soft tissue treatment, therapeutic exercise, kinesiotape, nutritional consultations and carries a wide variety of vitamins and supplements. Dr. Cripps is a current member of the Tennessee Chiropractic Association and a board member of the Smith County Chamber of Commerce. She enjoys teaching her patients and the public about health and wellness. When not in the office, she enjoys exercising, reading, traveling, coaching a local youth team, and spending time with her family.
