Meet the Staff
Bethany is our receptionist and “Keeper of the Schedule”. She is an Arizona native who moved to Tennessee in 2011. She studied at Pima Community College where she earned an associate’s degree in Business Administration. Bethany started at Carthage Family Chiropractic, LLC in April of 2019. Bethany is a wife and mother of two boys. She enjoys making cakes on the weekends in between football games and dirt track races.
Emily Hoot, CTA
Emily Hoot is a Chiropractic Therapy Assistant (CTA) for Carthage Family Chiropractic, LLC. She was born in Carthage but her parents were missionaries and moved to the Dominican Republic with Emily and her six brothers and two sisters. She and her family returned to the United States in 2011. Emily has been working for Carthage Family Chiropractic, LLC since January of 2019. Emily enjoys outdoor activities, traveling and spending time her big family.
Tyra Mise, CTA
Tyra Mise is a Chiropractic Therapy Assistant (CTA) for Carthage Family Chiropractic, LLC. She has worked for Dr. Melanie Cripps since December of 2016, beginning as a receptionist and now taking on more roles as a CTA and clinical manager. Tyra was born and raised in Carthage and currently resides in Pleasant Shade when she is not at school in Cookeville. She is also a full-time student in the nursing program at Tennessee Technological University and plans to further her education by becoming a Family Nurse Practitioner once she graduates. When Tyra is not in the office or at school, she enjoys hiking, exercising, and playing with her dog, Lily.
Samantha Sanders, RD CLC
Samantha is a Registered Dietitian and the office manager at Carthage Family Chiropractic, LLC. Samantha was born in Smith County and attended MTSU for her B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics. She lived in North Carolina during her internship and realized Carthage was where she wanted to settle down. Samantha finds fulfillment in educating and uplifting individuals. She worked in public health for over 5 years and has been at Carthage Family Chiropractic, LLC since July 2019. Samantha loves spending time with her husband, Patrick, and son, Haywood and being outdoors.
Karen Williams, CPC
Karen is a native Tennessean, having grown up in Wilson County. She moved to Smith County in 2015 and met Dr. Cripps as a patient for treatment after a car accident. Karen graduated from Austin Peay State University in 1988 and has worked in healthcare for over 30 years in various roles. She is also a Certified Professional Coder and handles our billing and insurance issues. She has two grown children and is a former Search and Rescue K9 handler. She loves to travel, but Tennessee will always be home.
Gus Cripps, Office Dog
Gus is a German Shepherd. He is a part of our office staff. His daily schedule includes greeting patients, accepting treats, and taking naps. He loves all patients and children.
