Therapies & Techniques

Myofascial Release

We offer an alternative medicine therapy called myofascial release that is used for treating skeletal muscle immobility and pain. Myofascial release therapy is a hands-on treatment that utilizes gentle, sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to relax contracted muscles, improve blood and lymphatic circulation, and stimulates the stretch reflex in muscles.

Spinal Decompression -

At Carthage Family Chiropractic we use non surgical spinal decompression to help treat back or neck pain, sciatica, bulging or herniated discs, worn spinal joints, and injured or diseased spinal nerve roots. Spinal decompression gently stretches the spine to change the force and position of the spine. By making this change, pressure is removed from the spinal discs and bulging or herniated discs may retract.

Therapeutic Ultrasound -

Therapeutic ultrasound uses sound waves above the range of human hearing to interact with tissues in the body that are either modified or destroyed. It creates a deep heat and increases the blood flow to the area being treated to help reduce local swelling and chronic inflammation. Call us (615-735-9336) to learn more.

Trigger Point Therapy -

The use of massage for trigger point therapy on a regular basis can help naturally manage pain and stress from chronic injuries. Pressure is applied to a trigger point long enough to release and relax the muscle. This increases blood flow to the muscle to allow normalization and bring it back to a health state.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy -

Hyperbaric Oxygen Chamber Therapy (HBOT) helps wound healing by bringing oxygen-rich plasma to tissue starved for oxygen. Wound injuries damage the body's blood vessels, which release fluid that leaks into the tissues and causes swelling.

Infrared Sauna -

Toxins of all kinds surround us everyday - heavy metals in our environment, hormones in our meat, and even pesticides on our produce - but Sun lighten Infrared Sauna is here to help you detox and feel your best!

Dry Needling -

Inflamed areas of the muscle are known as myofascial trigger points. They often feel like small knots underneath the skin. One of the ways we treat trigger points is a technique called dry needling. With dry needling, a thin needle is gently inserted through the skin directly into the affected muscle.

Assisted Lymphatic Therapy -

Assisted Lymphatic Therapy (ALT) is a gentle, light touch non-invasive technique to stimulate the proper flow and drainage of the lymphatic system. A combination of vibrational, light, and electrical waves help to stimulate the flow by causing the dissociation of proteins that have become trapped in the interstitium.

Cupping -

Cupping soothes the nervous system, creating a parasympathetic “rest and digest” response. The negative pressure from cupping pulls these waste products up and flushes out. Helping to facilitate new fresh blood coming in and aiding with final clean up.

Remedy Allergy Testing -

The Full Remedy Allergy Testing scan is our most comprehensive option. The scanning we do provides a wide range of insights, including levels of bioenergetic stress within your system performance, nutritional and hormonal imbalances, general categories of resonating toxins, food and environmental sensitivities along with a balancing regimen.
